Rockwood is a classic neighborhood church built in the 1960’s in the Kansas City suburb of Independence.  The church, which thrived through the early 90’s had declined in recent years and fallen into disrepair.  The final straw was a ruptured pipe during a cold winter in 2017.  With extensive water damage in the basement, a leaky roof, and an antiquated, non-functioning HVAC system, this beautiful building was truly in trouble.  Narthex acquired it in early 2019 from the denomination.  Today, with an all new and efficient HVAC system and a complete remediation and restoration, Rockwood is now home to four different congregations who all share this building together.  Rockwood is testimony to the strength of the church, literally.  What is well built can always be restored.
